Mold Allergies – Causes and Cures

Mold allergies are caused by mold spores that you breathe in or consume with your food. Mold is one of the leading causes of seasonal allergies and pollen from trees, grass, and weeds. People who have asthma may suffer more severe symptoms when they contact mold because of allergies that aggravate asthma. Mold grows all year long as long as the prime conditions of damp areas exist. Because they are so small, you cannot see mold spores in the air, so you may not even realize that you are suffering from mold allergies.

There are many different mold allergy symptoms. Sneezing is the most common symptom and is not always the symptom of a cold. Other symptoms of mold allergies include runny nose, watery eyes, coughing, and dark circles under the eyes. Asthma and bronchitis are also complications that can arise as a result of allergies to mold or mildew.

Can mold allergies be severe?

Aspergillosis is a medical condition that can be the result of mold allergies. This condition is a fungal infection that comes from breathing in mold and mildew spores and could result in hospitalization. Incidences of this mildew allergy are rare, but it can be fatal if diagnosed as an allergy to mold. In this condition, the mold spores become lodged in the airways and grow to develop as a fungus ball, causing a severe infection.

A mildew allergy misdiagnosed with a high level of allergies now attributed to mold and mildew, finding that people have mold allergies is becoming more common. To determine if your symptoms are mild allergy symptoms, you need to see your doctor. He/She can order an allergy test for common molds to see whether this is causing your problem. At the same time, you can also inspect your home to see whether you can find any places where there is mold growth and take the necessary steps to remove it.

Mold allergies can also result from eating foods that contain mold and yeast. Cheese is a typical example of a food that can cause an allergic reaction. A mildew allergy is often confused with an allergy to pollen because the symptoms are so similar. Even though the usual medications will help you feel better, you notice that you have the same symptoms at other times of the year, and checked to see if you have a mildew allergy. It is no right to keep taking the medications if you don’t know the real cause of the problem. Along with getting the proper treatment for mold allergies, you also have to seek the cause of the problem.
